Warming Up

Description Warming Up is designed for all of you who have “Creativity” as a part of your new years resolution but are possibly feeling intimated by the endless possibilities of working with clay or the idea of a completely “open studio.”  Smile, this one’s for you!  I will be providing step-by-step instruction for building and decorating with the 4 basic clay techniques- Pinch, Coil, Slab, and Wheel throwing and will have you creating pieces that are range from functional to fun (some sculptural work will be done).  If that’s not enough, you will also gain universal art vocabulary through an understanding of the Art Elements (line, color, shape, form, value) and Principles of Design (balance, proportion, contrast, emphasis, unity, rhythm, etc.) which will help you feel comfortable and confident about making artistic decisions.
