Mt. Hood Town Hall Events
Interesting People Series 2020
We are very excited to present our upcoming INTERESTING PEOPLE events. There are so many amazing stories our neighbors and friends have to share… here are just a couple. Hope you can join us!
Friday, January 17, 2020 at 6:30PM, features Kyle Donahue (Tim and Jenni’s son) who spent 6 months living in Mongolia (of all places). Kyle is an adventurer and will share his stories of living in one of the most remote places on earth (that I’ve ever heard of…). He’s got stories to tell – and pictures!
Speaking of pictures…
Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11AM, local photographer and renown author, Peter Marbach will share his latest book, Healing the Big River: Salmon Dreams and the Columbia River Treaty. Peter has published numerous photo books about the Columbia River, Mt Hood and the Hood River Valley, and the Columbia River Gorge. His photos are spectacular and his stories are profound. Books will be available for purchase with 50% of sales donated to MHTH.
Events are FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments. There’s a lot to learn from friends we may not have met, yet!
The Return of Cookies with Santa…
Kick off the holiday season at Mt Hood Town Hall – Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8 – Our kind of one stop shop for the holidays with Trees, Cookies, Gifts, Crafts…and of course, SANTA!
Start the weekend with our U-Pick, We Cut Christmas tree sales – Volunteers from the MHTH Board will be selling trees in the back lot on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 10AM to 4PM each day. Trees from $30. You pick the tree you want, we’ll cut it for you… and even help you load it!
On Sunday, December 8 ONLY, MHTH’s Cookies with Santa and Handmade Holiday Market is set from 11AM to 4PM. Kids can get their picture taken with the jolly old elf himself, decorate a festive shortbread cookie, and make fun holiday gifts. Photos with Santa by Hart’s Images from 12PM to 4PM available for purchase.
The Handmade Holiday Market is the perfect place to get a jump on your holiday shopping. Local artisans including potters, painters, and jewelry makers offer their finest handmade creations. And our community volunteers will be busy in the kitchen serving a hot light lunch of creamy tomato soup with polenta from Mother’s Marketplace and fresh cornbread (suggested donation of $5) to support our community meals program.

Pizza by the slice and FREE root beer and dream-cicle floats (while supplies last). Summer fun for the whole family! Music on the Lawn: We are excited that Gorge favorites Dennis Williams and Chic Preston will provide our soundtrack. (uh-oh! could lead to dancing…and this time we REALLY mean it!)
