The Mt. Hood Town Hall announces a Writer’s Workshop series with author/instructor Paula Friedman, whose novel The Rescuer’s Path was published this January. The class meets on Thursdays, May 3, 10, and 17, 2-4 p.m. Come explore your inner creativity, and learn new competencies in writing. Cost is $20/per 2-hr session. Thank You For Your Support of Our First Annual Poker Tournament Fundraiser

Forty-five participants showed up to support the Mt. Hood Town Hall on Saturday, February 4^th at its First Annual Poker Tournament Fundraiser. The event raised $1,500 for the Town Hall.

Thank you to all of the local area businesses who showed their support for the Town Hall by sponsoring tables in order to cover expenses and make the event a great success. Thanks also to Jenelle McCleary, Town Hall Board of Directors Member, and of course to all of the players who came out for the event. Everyone had a good time, and bringing our community together is what the Town Hall is all about.

Returnable Can Drive to Benefit MHTH Senior Meals

The Leos group, an outstanding group of students from Hood River Valley who work on community service projects, have kindly asked to partner with Senior Meals on a returnable can drive. All of the proceeds will be donated to the MHTH Senior Meals program. The event will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 9am-1pm in the Rosauers parking lot. They will accept all deposit containers, such as pop, beer, water bottles, etc. For those of you who might be unable to get to Rosauers on this day, but would like to donate containers, please contact Sarah Wilson. Also, a box will be placed by the recycling container at the MHTH for you to drop off returnables for Senior Meals.

Pie Class with Pam Regentin

CLASS POSTPONED – Date TBD in December. Just in time for holiday pies, Pam Regentin of Fleur Cakes will be conducting a pie making class at the Mt. Hood Towne Hall kitchen. This two hour class will present an easy technique that will take the mystery out of making traditional two crust pies. The class starts out with an opportunity to eat a slice of Pam’s prize winning apple pie and to talk about the place of pie in American culture. Pam will talk about what makes a flaky, flavorful crust and demonstrate the method for two crust pie. Each participant will get a chance to make their own two crust apple pie to take home and bake. There will also be an opportunity to ask all your pressing pie making questions. Apples and other ingredients will be provided. Each attendee should bring their own nine inch pie dish and rolling pin. Aprons are optional. Cost of the class is $38. A minimum of five students is necessary for the class to be held. This will be a deliciously fun evening that will empower you to make that special holiday pie that will please your family and friends.

New Sign!

We are so excited to have our new sign out front. This new sign identifies the building and allows the community to know about current events. Thanks to the Ford Family Leadership Committee for coordinating the project. And thank you to all the volunteers for their generosity.
