I arrived at noon for the annual Spin-In last Saturday and had to catch my breath. With the days of September just behind us, the October sun shining orange on the wood floors of the gymnasium, and all the spinning wheels turning in their meditative circles, a long deep sigh. Ladies, ages 35-96, sat with bare feet or wool socks pedaling, turning drop-spindles, chatting or just quietly working. Fibers of every color and texture were being spun into yarn. I yearned to join these gals, to take off my sandals and take up this new hobby. What great energy and peaceful minds at work in the Mount Hood Town Hall. This annual fall event is one to know about. I was also invited several times to the Columbia Gorge Fiber Festival, happening November 6th, in The Dalles. If anyone wants to carpool from the Town Hall email firstname.lastname@example.org. Maybe I’ll see you next month! Happy fall in the Valley.
The Mt Hood Town hall Ceramic Open Studio Fall session is from October 6th-November 12th. Just in time to get those Christmas gifts started and finished in time for the holidays.
